Tonight begins the Independence League Championship Series as the Fremont Moo will take on the Casper Spuds in a best-of-five series with the winner claiming the second ever Independence League championship.
The Spuds will get to host the Moo in the first two games of the series, before it shifts to Fremont for the remaining possible three games. While Fremont struggled in the second half, The Moo finished with the best overall record at 31-21 while the Spud went 32-22. Fremont went 14-14 in the second half of the season and an impressive 17-7 in the first half. Casper finished the second half at 19-12, two games ahead of the Badlands Big Sticks to win the second half.
Wildly enough, the two teams only played one series at the end of May, the beginning of the season. Casper won two of three in Casper.
First pitch is at 7:30 Central Time from Casper, Wyoming.
