Similar to Banana ball, the Oahe Zap and Badlands Big Sticks decided to play a “Bolt Ball” game on Sunday to close out the season which got the fans involved.
One of the rules for Bolt ball is if a fan catches a foul ball, the batter is out, just like what the Savannah Bananas do in their games. With both teams eliminated from playoff contention, it would be a fun way to end the summer for the collegiate baseball players who have traveled and played nearly 60 baseball games over the summer. Oahe would unfortunately fall 9-4 in the game and close the season at 15-42. Oahe dropped 13 of the last 14 games which included 12 of the 13 Independence League games.
The Independence League baseball championship will be played in a best of five series beginning on Tuesday between the Fremont Moo, the first half of the season winner, and the Casper Spuds, who won the second half of the season.
