The Pierre Post 8 15/16 team would not be able to make the comeback against Brandon Valley in the semifinals on Sunday as their tournament would come to an end.
Pierre would go down 5-0 in the bottom of the first inning, but Carter Shiefelbein would right the ship as he would toss five and 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball on the mound for the Eights allowing just three hits, but had eight strikeouts. Sawyer Sonnenschein and Will Danburg would each drive in a run as Pierre had just three hits in the loss. Lincoln Schoenhard had the other of the three hits for the Eights.
Pierre finishes the season at 20-12 falling just one game short of playing for a state championship.
