PIERRE — The Pierre City Commission is set for it’s regular weekly meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider approval of a seven-item consent calendar before moving on to agenda items. The calendar includes minutes from July 18th meeting, claims, appointments to two boards, two new hires and a raffle request. Two public hearings are on the agenda for 5:45 pm. They are for a temporary liquor license for the Longbranch at the Missouri Avenue Event Center and for a resolution to annex two tracts of land near Pierre Regional Airport. Commissioners will consider a capital request from Business Improvement District One and a resolution of support for an application for financial assistance from the South Dakota Housing Authority. The Commission will consider a request to purchase liquid deicing fluid, set a hearing for a rezoning/conditional use permit in the Cedar Heights Addition and an amendment to an agreement with D-G-R engineering for phase one of electric system improvements. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
