Continuing tonight, Tuesday July 25 and running on Tuesdays for the next two weeks, Jim Keyes, the head coach of the Pierre Governor Cross Country team is hosting the Lil’ Govs Summer Fun Run.
Meeting at Griffin Park parking lot across from the tennis courts every Tuesday, kids from kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to run a choice of a half mile, mile or two miles. You can also still run if you are heading into sixth grade this fall. They will start at Griffin Park and head out on the Lewis and Clark Trail. There will be turn around spots for each of the three distances. Both Keyes and Coach Peterson will be there helping with the runs along with the middle school and high school runners to help out each week.
The evening will start at 5:30, there is no sign up or registration and the plan is to be done right around 6:00 each Tuesday. They will run on Tuesdays July 25 and August 1.
