Capital City Little League Drops State Championship Game

The Sioux Falls Little League would beat the Capital City Little League 3-1 on Sunday to win the South Dakota State Championship and advance to Midwest Regional.

Kaden Goodlander would bring in the game’s first run as Jaylen Keyes would score. Pierre would lead 1-0 after the top of the first, but it would be short lived as Sioux Falls would hit a two run homer in the bottom of the first. Sioux Falls would add another run in the second and it was all they needed. Although, Lucius McCullough would allow only three hits, and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings as he would be dominant enough on the mound to give Pierre a chance. Pierre had just four hits in the loss as Tripp Lindekugel would double and Weston Terwilliger, Tace Palecek and Colt Schilling would all single.

Sioux Falls advances to the Midwest Regional in Whitestown, Indiana representing South Dakota. They will play Iowa at 6:00 Central Time against Iowa on Friday, August 4
