The season is now on the line from here on out as Pierre Post 8 will travel to Rapid City for a best-of-three series kicking off tonight against the Hardhats.
Out of the seven teams who are hosting a region matchup, the Eights didn’t play or beat six of the seven teams. The one team they beat, their opponent, Post 22. While the Eights would take whoever they would play, it’s certainly a confidence boost to play a team you’ve already beaten this year. Even though overall Pierre is 1-3 against the Hardhats, the one win does mean a lot heading into the series. Last year, Post 8 would sweep Renner on the road to make the state tournament and will have to win on the road again to qualify for another state tournament. Pierre finished the season at 6-18 in South Dakota games while Rapid City Post 22 finished at 17-8. Brian White, manager of Post 8 says really they should have beaten Post 22 twice…

But to do that, White says they are going to have to play really good baseball…
