Capital City League Begins State Tournament against Rapid City Little League

Thursday in Sioux Falls the state tournament will begin as the Capital City Little League will face the Rapid City Little League in the second game of day one.

It’s a double elimination tournament and teams will play just one game a day, excluding the if necessary game being played on Sunday again. Pierre and Sioux Falls advanced from their sub district with the Harney Little League and Rapid City Little League advancing from its sub district. The four teams will battle for a spot in the Midwest Regional at Whitestown, Indiana, August 4-11. The winner of the Midwest Regional will advance to Willamsport, Pennsylvania at the Little League World Series. Harney and Sioux Falls will play at 6:30 in the first game Thursday with Pierre facing Rapid City at 7:30. Pierre went 1-1 in the sub district tournament beating Brandon Valley 3-0 and falling to Sioux Falls 3-0.

All games will be played at the Sanford Diamonds in Sioux Falls.
