The Oahe Zap would bust out 12 runs on Monday to defeat the Fremont Moo in the opening game of a three game set at Hyde Stadium, winning 12-7.
Fremont would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the third before Tyler Traphagen, Trenton Duchscherer and Jacob Trusner each would have an RBI to give the Zap a 3-2 lead. Fremont would reclaim the lead in the top of the fourth and lead 7-4 after six complete. However, an eight run seventh inning would give the Zap the five run advantage that would hold up for the win. Preston Lau would hit into a double play scoring the first run of the inning but Traphagen, Jackson Mix and Trevor Seagraves would walk with the bases loaded and Jarrod Heck would be hit by pitch in four consecutive plate appearances for the Zap to take the lead 9-7. Trevor Seagraves would open up the lead with a two RBI single and then Lau would be hit by a pitch with the bases loaded again to score the games final run. Oahe scored six of the eight runs in the inning without an RBI hit. Daniel Clark would get the win on the mound for the Zap in relief throwing a scoreless inning in the seventh. Colin Quandee and Micah Larsen each had a scoreless relief appearance as well for Oahe who improves to 6-7 in the second half of the season.
Game two of the series is tonight at Hyde Stadium with first pitch at 6:35.
