Prospects Overwhelm Zap for Second Straight Game

The Nebraska Prospects have now taken the first two games of the series with a 4th of July win on Tuesday 10-1 over the Oahe Zap.

It’s the second straight game the Prospects have scored 10 runs and stymied the bats of the Zap. Oahe had just six hits spread out over the ballgame. Andrew Beavers would cash in the only Zap run with a two out single in the bottom of the fifth, but at the point it was already 5-1. Joel Benes continued his outstanding series with a triple away from the cycle going 3-4 with three RBIs in the in. Benes threw a complete game shutout on just 105 pitches on Monday. Graham Young would pick up the loss going seven innings allowing 12 hits, six runs, but three earned, two walks and four strikeouts. The Zap fall to 3-5 in the second half of the season.

The finale of the three game series is set for tonight with first pitch at 6:35 at Hyde Stadium.
