PIERRE — The annual Lake Sharpe Clean-up is less than a week away. Dozens of volunteers have shown up over the past decade to pluck debris and garbage from the Missouri River near Pierre and Fort Pierre. Organizer Paul Lepisto says the effort takes an army and navy of helpers…
The clean-up headquarters is at Downs Marina, but Lepisto says other users of the marina will not be impacted…
All volunteers are welcome and those volunteering should be properly prepared…
Some gloves will be provided. Sign-up begins at 4:30 pm on Wednesday July 12th with the clean-up running from five to eight pm. A free meal will be served to volunteers after the clean-up.
