Spuds Beat Zap, Take Second Half Opening Series

For the third straight game the Oahe Zap would have a lead over the Casper Spuds, but for the second straight time, the Spuds would come back for the win, this time 7-2 on Thursday.

The opening series of the second half of the season goes to the the Spuds who dropped the first game to Oahe in 10 innings. The Zap had a lead in the second game and opened up with a 2-0 lead in the top of the second, but Oahe never got an RBI in the loss. Preston Lau would score off a wild pitch and an error by the catcher on the throw to third. A second run would score in the inning on a double play to give the Zap a 2-0 lead. Casper would tie the game in the bottom of the fourth and take the lead with a four run inning in the bottom of the sixth as Easten Smith would drive in the go-ahead runs to make it 4-2 and the Spuds would add another another run in the bottom of the eighth. The Zap would get seven hits in total, but couldn’t string enough together to score in any other inning after the second as they fall to 1-2 in the second half of the season.

Oahe will travel to Fremont for a weekend series against the Moo which begins tonight. First pitch on Friday and Saturday are both at 7:05 with 6:05 first pitch on Sunday.
