The Mitchell Senior Legion Baseball team has stopped all baseball activities until further notice because of “player personnel issues” on comments from head coach Luke Norden and being reported by the Mitchell Republic.
Landon Dierks reports Jason Christensen confirmed the stoppage of activities. It is due to a legal or criminal matter which stemmed the suspension of the team. Currently there is not a definite timetable for the season to resume. It only affects the senior legion team and not any level below senior legion.
Overall, Post 18 was scheduled to be in Wyoming for a tournament last weekend, face Brandon Valley at home on Wednesday and then travel to Aberdeen on Friday. All games have been canceled with Mitchell scheduled to be at the Gopher Classic next weekend and then on Wednesday, July 12, supposed to host Pierre Post 8.
