Zap Begin Second Half of Season with Extra Inning Win

The Oahe Zap would score four runs in the top of the 10th inning to secure the first win of the second half of the season 6-2 over the Casper Spuds.

With the start of the second half beginning on Tuesday, Oahe begins the back portion of the schedule at 1-0, but had to do so with an extra innings game. Oahe would get on the board first with an RBI single by Carson Trumpold in the top of the second. A two RBI single in the bottom of the third would give the Spuds a 2-1 lead before Trumpold would single again, with two outs in the fourth to tie the game at 2-2. It would remain tied to the tenth inning where the Zap would get a bunt base hit to lead off the inning moving the automatic runner from second over to third when Kyle Memerian would drive in the go-ahead and eventual winning run. Tyler Traphagen had an RBI single to give the Zap some cushion before Preston Lau drove in two runs to give the Zap a 6-2 and Micah Larsen would shut the door in the tenth finishing off his two inning outing for the win and start the second half off right for Oahe.

The Zap and Spuds will play game two on Wednesday. First pitch is at 7:30 Central Time from Casper, Wyoming.
