The second day of the National Tournament would conclude with the Kusler Klinic Volleyball Club teams still representing well heading into the third day.
The 17U Orange team would advance to the third round of the championship pool play side, needing to stay in the top two again to get an opportunity to play for a spot in the championship bracket. The orange team would go 2-1 dropping its final match of the day in three sets. The KKVC Orange would sweep the first two matches with wins at 25-12 and 25-10 in match one and 25-11 and 25-15 in the second match. KKVC Orange, in its third match would drop the opening set of its final match 25-22, but come back with a 29-27 win in set two to force a third set, however, Xtreme National Fusion would win set three 15-13 to knock off KKVC Orange for the first time all tournament. Even with a 2-1 record, they advance to the third round on Wednesday and one step from the Thursday championship bracket. KKVC is represented by Aleise Christopherson, Campbell Cronin, Makayla Sherwood and Lainey Reinke from Pierre.
The 17U Blue team would also advance into the tournament staying in championship contention going 3-0 in the 17 Classic Division. All three matches would go to three sets, but in favor of KKVC. They would win the first match over St. Cloud 25-10, 23-25 and 15-7. In match two, KKVC Blue would win 25-16, 16-25 and 17-15. Heading into third match and needing a win to secure a spot staying in championship contention without tiebreakers, KKVC Blue would drop the first set 17-25 before coming back and winning 25-23 in the second set and finishing off a 15-6 win to win the pool and advance farther on the championship side of the tournament. Campbell Boddicker and Abigail Kropp are representing Pierre on the Blue team with Cadence Hand representing the Stanley County Buffaloes.
You can follow links below for each division. KKVC Orange will begin play at 8:30 Eastern Time Wednesday followed by a 9:30 and 11:30 match times. KKVC Blue will play in the morning as well also starting at 8:30 Eastern Time with then matches at 10:30 and 12:30.
