Tonight the Eights will look to continue its win streak as they host Huron Post 7 in a doubleheader and will also look to continue a climb in the standings.
The Eights are winners of three straight and have won four of the last seven games dating back to the Saturday of the Dakota Classic. Pierre has moved up the standings a couple of spots and playing Huron who is just above them as well, can help climb the standings with a couple of more wins. Huron hasn’t played since last Thursday and hasn’t played against a South Dakota opponent since the Dakota Classic. Post 7 is 2-7 in South Dakota games, but have wins over Aberdeen and Watertown. While Huron doesn’t have the depth they would like, they’re a dangerous team with a couple of top end pitchers. Layne Wenzel and Jack Pedersen each have an ERA under 2.30 and along with Mason Davis, don’t give up a lot of runs in total.
Coverage of the doubleheader will be at 4:45 with first pitch at 5:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
