Jacobson Indicted On Five More Charges Of Aggravated Assault On Law Enforcement For March Standoff

PIERRE — A Pierre man is facing more charges for a stand-off with law enforcement near Spring Creek in March. A superseding indictment has been filed against Henry Jacobson that adds five new charges of Aggravated Assault Against a Law Enforcement Officer. That Indictment brings the number of charges facing Jacobson to 13 in the Hughes County case. Assistant Attorney General Jessica LaMie told Sixth Circuit Judge Bobbi Rank that the five additional charges were added after consulting with the U-S Attorney’s Office. The five new Aggravated Assault charges represent five Deputy U-S Marshal’s who responded to the March 7th incident as alleged victims. Four Pierre police, one South Dakota Highway Patrol Trooper and five U-S Marshal’s are represented as victims in the case. Jacobson has pleaded not guilty to all charges in the case including to Possession of a Loaded Firearm While Intoxicated, Reckless Use of Weapons, Commission of a Felony with a Firearm and two Domestic Abuse Assaults. A trial has been set for August 28th to September 1st with an alternate trial date the following week.
