Paul says most of the staff was evacuating when firefighters arrived on scene. The Mickelson building, as it’s known locally, is home to the Law Enforcement Training Center, Division of Criminal Investigation, Attorney General’s Office and Central South Dakota Communications. Staff was allowed back into the building to finish out the work day. Fire crews were on scene around a half hour.
