Post 8 Drops Final Game of Dakota Classic

Pierre Post 8 couldn’t hold on to the slim lead in the fifth inning and would fall 10-3 to Omaha North on Sunday to close out the Dakota Classic at 1-3.

Ridge Leimbach would drive in the game’s first run in the top of the first to take a quick 1-0 lead. Omaha North would use a two run third inning to go up 2-1, but Jonny Lyons would deliver a base hit driving in two runs in the top of the fifth as the Eights went back on top 3-2. However, the wheels would fall off in the bottom half of the inning as six runs would come across to score for Omaha to take the lead 8-3. Five runs were charged to Matthew Coverdale who overall had a solid outing in four plus innings of work, three were charged to Leimbach and the final two were unearned against Cooper Terwilliger. Leimbach, Terwilliger and Bruce threw under 20 pitches and are eligible to pitch again on Monday.

Post 8 will face Mitchell Monday in a doubleheader at home. Coverage will start at 4:45 with first pitch at 5:00 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
