This weekend, Pierre Post 8 will travel to the Sioux Falls area for the Dakota Classic which will include five different states competing as the Eights will be in the Brandon Valley Pool.
Pierre opens the tournament taking on Columbus, Nebraska who will come into the weekend at 7-6 having lost its latest two games on Wednesday. Then on Saturday, Pierre will face St. Peter, Minnesota and then Brandon Valley. The Saturday night game against the Lynx is the most important game of the weekend as the Eights will be looking for its first win of the season this weekend, but have a chance to get a win against a South Dakota opponent. Then on Sunday, Post 8 will close out the pool against Omaha North. If Pierre would win the pool they would play the quarterfinal matchup at 5:00 Sunday night.
Tonight’s game is at 6:30 with coverage starting at 6:15. Then on Saturday, games will start at 3:15 for the doubleheader at 3:30 and 6:00. Sunday’s game will be at 10:30 with coverage at 10:15. Friday and Saturday’s games will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Sunday morning’s game at 10:30 will ONLY be on YouTube at KCCR Sports. Jon Winkler will have the call of all games.
