Oahe Zap Resume after Three Day Layoff Looking for Season Turnaround Series

The Oahe Zap will get back on the field tonight as they take on the Hastings Sodbusters, a team they just played last weekend at home.

The Zap ended its losing streak last Saturday against the Sodbusters, but were still defeated in the weekend series two games to one. Hastings is coming into town not having a day off since last week Thursday. Hastings picked up its first two wins of the season against Oahe, but were swept by the Casper Spuds over the three game set Monday through Wednesday. Both teams are 10 plus games back of first place heading into the middle of June and both will have to start piling in wins to climb back in the standings in hopes of making the playoffs.

The Zap, at 2-15 hope the three day rest will get them going to resume the season and rattle of series wins as they have struggled to hit the ball consistently. The team has just a .194 batting average and an on base percentage under .300 at .295. They’ve scored just 48 runs through 17 games which averages to less than three runs a game. Their runs allowed and run differential is worst in the Independence League having allowed 37 more runs than the second highest team and the run differential is 57 runs worse than the Sodbusters as Oahe is at -92 in the category.

First pitch tonight from Hyde Stadium is at 6:35 as the three game series will run through Saturday.
