Post 8 Blasted by Rapid City Post 320 in Doubleheader Sweep

Rapid City Post 320 brought the bats with them on Wednesday defeating Pierre Post 8 16-2 in game one and 18-6 in game two as Pierre continues to be winless.

Post 320 would score 16 runs on 17 hits in the game one win as they would lead 11-2 after five innings and scoring five runs in the top of the seventh to take the first win over Pierre. Spencer Easland had an RBI in the bottom of the fourth and then Matthew Coverdale drove in the run in the bottom of the fifth to keep the game alive pulling Pierre within nine. Jace Wetzler would going 3-3 and drive in four runs for Rapid City as Mason Mehlhoff, Isaac Dike and Tegan Sayles each drove in two runs for the Stars. This was the widest margin for Post 8 being outhit in a game as Rapid City outhit them 17-6.

In game two Post 320 had a four run first, five run third and eight run fourth to create a major separation against Pierre as the Eights could only must a run in the first and second before scoring four in the bottom of the fifth. Jett Zabel, Ridge Leimbach, Jonny Lyons, Matthew Coverdale and Cooper Terwilliger each had an RBI in the loss as Pierre drops to 0-14 on the season. Post 320 had four players with three RBIs each as Ryan Rufledt, Jett Wetzler, Ben Dressler and Joseph Corwin combined for 12 of the 15 RBIs in the game as Rapid City improved to 10-2 in South Dakota games.
