PIERRE — South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson helped amend a bill in Congress that could have cost Pierre and other Essential Air Service cities in South Dakota more than four-million dollars over the next ten years. The Act reauthorizes the Federal Aviation Administration and it’s associated programs. If not amended by Johnson, the measure would have placed a five-percent funding burden on local and state governments enrolled in the E-A-S program.
