This evening, Pierre will be hosting Watertown in a doubleheader searching for its first win of the season after coming up just short on Sunday against Rapid City Post 22.
The Eights have found themselves in plenty of games and have out hit their opponents in six of the 10 total games to begin the season. Overall, Pierre has either outhit or been within a hit of their opponent in eight games in total. The Eights have to control the strike zone and limit the errors on defense. If so, over the next couple of weeks, the Eights could find themselves winning some ballgames. Watertown is at 15-16 so far on the year and split with Huron on Sunday, but have split doubleheaders with Harrisburg and Sioux Falls West over the last week. Brian White, manager of Post 8, says he wants the pitchers to command the strike zone and also the Eights have to be better defensively…
White says it has been frustrating, but the team is getting there…
White says the games tonight are important for the Eights and can set them up over the next couple of weeks…
Coverage of the doubleheader will begin at 4:45 with first pitch at 5:00 from Hyde Stadium in Pierre. Games will be on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports.
