Pierre, Lyman, Stanley County in Aberdeen for State Trap Meet Friday Through Sunday

Starting on Friday, teams from all over the state will be in Aberdeen for the South Dakota Clay Target State Tournaments which run through Sunday.

There will be more than 58 high schools which will include over 900 athletes at the 2023 state tournaments. They are expecting it to the be the biggest attend state tournament in history with over 2000 spectators across the weekend.

Stanley County will get the local teams going on Friday as they will shoot skeet starting at 11:45 AM on field one. Then session two will begin immediately after the first session concludes. Stanley County will have to wait for Chamberlain to finish its second session in the afternoon before competing again.

Pierre will shoot Skeet to open up Saturday at 9:15 AM. They will also start the second session once session one wraps up which will be on Field one. Then on Sunday, Pierre and Lyman will shoot trap to wrap up the state tournament. Pierre will be on field eight while Lyman will have field six. The day begins on Sunday at 8:00 AM and will run until around 11:30 when session two begins and runs through the same schedule.

The weekend begins on Friday and runs through Sunday at the Aberdeen Gun Club.
