Miller Girls Third Heading into Final Day of Class B Golf Championships

The Class B State Golf Meets will head into its second day in Watertown as area schools along with the individuals had a good showing on day one.

Sully Buttes

Gavin Colson is tied for fifth at seven over par, 79 after the first day in the Class B golf tournament. Colson birdied the 18th hole to help pace the Sully Buttes Chargers into a 10th place day one finish. Wesley Wittler would shoot an 83 while Thomas Farries as at 98 to round out the scoring. Marshall Wittler would shoot a 102. Both Berkley Birney and Olivia Olson are tied for 33rd after the first day, both shooting a 95.

Miller

The Miller girls are in third place after the first day of work in the girls Class B tournament. Jayce Pugh and Kaihlyn Anderberg are both tied for sixth place as they shot eight over, 80. Mackenzi Kopecky would shoot a 100. Miller is just 15 shots off of Chester for first place heading into the second day. Derek Brueggeman would shoot an 89 after the first day as James Fritzche would take a 107 heading into the second day.

Jones County

The Jones County girls are in 11th place in the Class B tournament. They are led by Kamri Kittleson who shot an 84 and is tied for ninth place while Tayah Anderson would shoot a 98, Savanah Hendricks is at 116 and Emmy Newsam at 122.

Highmore-Harrold

For the Highmore-Harrold boys, Gunner Brueggeman is at plus 18, 90 which is tied for 55th after the first day in Watertown while Kendall Cermak is tied for 40th on the girls side at plus 25, 97.

Potter County

Neva Mikkelsen is tied for ninth for the Potter County Battlers while Olivia Mikkelsen is tied for 15th at plus 15, 87. Alex Tanner would shoot a plus 20, 92 on the boys side.

Lyman

Cooper Long is tied for 20th after the first day just 11 over par, 83 as the lone representative for the Lyman Raiders.

In Class B boys, Gregory and Ethan are tied for first place as a team at plus 27, 243 and Wyatt Larson of McIntosh is the clubhouse leader at two over par, 74 and has a three shot lead. In Class B girls, Chester leads at 29 over, 245 as a team and Allison Kahler of Bison/Hettinger/Scranton is the clubhouse leader shooting just four over par, 76.
