The Pierre Governor golf team would finish in eighth place as a team to close the 2023 year playing at their home course of Hillsview in the AA state tournament.
Hadley Hart was the best finisher for Pierre as she would shoot 18 over par, 162 combined in the two days which was good for 24th place. Morgan Lisburg would be tied for 46th at 35 over, 179 while Andrea Mosteller was just one shot behind her at 180 and Hattie Baldwin was at 202, 58 over par to close out the tournament. Overall Pierre finished a shot better in day two, but had four birdies overall as Hart, Lisburg and Baldwin all birded the second hole. Mitchell would win the team state title with a 616, three shots better of Aberdeen Central for second.
Bryn Huber overcame a five shot deficit to tie Allison Meyerink of Mitchell for the individual championship as Huber won the playoff hole and the Huron Tiger would take home the AA state title.
