Augustana Falls to Southern New Hampshire to Bow out of Division II World Series

The Augustana Vikings would drop both of its games at the Division II World Series as they would fall to Southern New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon, 10-6.

After giving up the lead in the bottom of the eighth in game one of the tournament, Augustana was behind the eight ball to start the game as Southern New Hampshire would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Drey Dirksen would drive in the games first run for the Vikings in the bottom of the first to make it 2-1 before hitting a sac fly to tie the game at 2-2 in the third. However, New Hampshire would get three runs in the fifth to take a 5-2 lead, but it was Dirksen again, this time homering on a two run shot to make it 5-4 as he drove in the first four runs of the game for the Vikings. Southern New Hampshire would add runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth to make the deficit too much to over come for Augustana. Jack Hines and Tate Meiners would each have an RBI to close out the season as Augustana goes 0-2 at World Series.

Augustana finishes the season at 47-21 in 2023.
