FORT PIERRE — The Fort Pierre City Council is meeting tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room. The Council will hear reports from city officials before moving on to agenda items. Three public hearings are on the agenda. Two are for 2023 retail, on-off sale licenses while the third is for a temporary liquor license for an event at the Casey Tibbs Rodeo Center on June 6th. The Council will recognize the Water Department for excellence and achievement awards and will get a presentation from Doug Mortenson on Cedar Hill Cemetery. An ash tree removal plan will come back before the Council for a third time tonight along with a resolution regarding a plat and considering approval of part-time summer help. Other agenda items include setting public hearings for temporary liquor license requests from the Casey Tibbs Rodeo Center, a temporary liquor license request, a change order and pay request for the wastewater project, a Casey Tibbs restroom renovation project and a rental agreement with the Municipal League regarding use of the meeting room for meetings.
