Rollins Wins World Series Opener, Sarringar with Two Hits

Pierre alum Spencer Sarringar and the Rollins Tars would beat Cal St. San Bernardino 7-1 in the opening game of the Division II World Series.

Rollins opened up the game with a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning before brining home four runs in the third on a three run shot and another solo homer. Sarringar would score as part of the three run homer and double home a run in the sixth as he went 2-3 in his World Series debut. Cal St. didn’t score its lone run until the top of the ninth.

Rollins will get the top seed, Millersville University in a battle of 1-0 teams on Monday. First pitch is at 6:00 from Cary, North Carolina.
