Pierre Governor Khalan Smart is the first and only member of the Governors to achieve All-ESD in the first year of softball as she received the honor Wednesday night.
Smart would hit .319 for the Governors driving in four runs and having four doubles on the season. She had an on base percentage of .421 and an OPS of .825. Smart was one of the few seniors on this year’s inaugural team and one of 10 seniors overall to receive the honor in their one and only year playing high school softball.
The Governors placed sixth in the standings at 2-5 while Brookings wins the conference title going 7-0.
