Sarringar’s Swan Song to End with Division II World Series Appearance

Last summer Pierre alum Spencer Sarringar was playing for the Bismarck Larks in the Northwoods League thinking his baseball career would come to an end. His coach in Bismarck convinced him to put his name in the transfer portal as a graduate transfer for one more season just to see. Now, Sarringar gets his final season to culminate at the Division II World Series with Rollins College.

The Tars are making its return trip to the World Series after falling in the semifinals last year and have increased its seed going into this year’s tournament. Sarringar says most of the guys offensively from Rollins returned from last season, but fitting in was no problem…

One of the things that also helps Sarringar fit right in is pretty blatant on the stat sheet. Sarringar is hitting a team high .377 with 20 RBI smashing three homers and has an on-base percentage at .462 and slugging .526. Sarringar is 9-20 in the playoffs with two doubles and three RBI. Sarringar says it’s been a fun ride this season to get to the World Series…

The double elimination format begins on Saturday and Sunday as Rollins will face Cal St. San Bernardino on Saturday at 12:30 Central Time. Augustana is playing defending champion North Greenville on the other side of the bracket on Sunday at 5:00.
