The Badlands Big Sticks would take five of six games all said and told with a 5-1 win on Thursday complete the sweep of the Zap in Dickinson.
Badlands would take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a solo homer by Danny Rogers to lead off the inning. The advantage would hold up until the bottom of the fifth when the Big Sticks would add in two more runs and then another two runs in the bottom of the eighth to lead 5-0. Trenton Duchscherer would drive in the Zap’s only run in the top of the ninth with an RBI single. Oahe had the tying run at the plate with the bases loaded and one out in the ninth but a fly out and then a strikeout with end the Zap’s night and drop Oahe to 1-8 on the season. Badlands improves to 8-1 on the year. Nick Blessing went seven innings allowing all five runs on seven hits, two walks and seven strikeouts.
Oahe will return home for a weekend series against the Spearfish Sasquatch. First pitch on Friday and Saturday is at 6:35 with Sunday’s game starting at 5:35 at Hyde Stadium.
