Post 20 Sweeps Mobridge to Open Season

The Fort Pierre Post 20 senior legion baseball team would sweep Mobridge on Tuesday on the road to open the season with two big wins taking the first game 7-4 and then a 15-0 shutout.

In the first game, Colton Brady would drive in two runs going 2-3 with the lone extra base hit and also picking up the save on the mound. Fort Pierre opened up the game leading 5-0 heading into the top of the third. Mobridge would pick up three runs in the bottom of the third, but Brady would shut the door earning the save after Paxton Deal went the first three and a third picking up the win in the first game.

Fort Pierre had no problems in the second game as they would win 15-0 behind a Daysen Titze complete game. Fort Pierre scored the first two runs in the top of the first and then would have a seven run top of the fourth to open the separation needed to pick up the run rule win in the second game. Josh Switzer went 3-4 at the plate as Post 20 had just eight hits in the game. Titze surrendered just two hits with four walks while striking out five. Fort Pierre didn’t have an error and had just one in total of the two games.

Fort Pierre will be off until Monday, June 12, but are off to a good start at 2-0.
