The Oahe Zap are hitting the road for the first time this season and in its young career as they play the Badlands Big Sticks who they just finished a series with on Sunday.
The Zap come into the week at 1-5 to start the year but have had two tough series to start. Between the Nebraska Prospects and the Big Sticks, they are a combined 9-1 on the season and the only loss is the Zap’s lone win. The Big Sticks have shown to be one of the top teams in the ILB to open the season with its sweep of Spearfish and then a series win over Oahe. With Nebraska’s record not counting toward the standings, the Zap are playing the top team in the league for a second straight series.
The Zap will look for some road wins before returning right back home this weekend to renew its longtime Pierre-Spearfish rivalry as the Sasquatch will come to town for the first time this season. The Oahe fans are familiar with the rivalry that was had in the old Expedition League days and can guarantee there will not be any love lost between the two teams in the Independence League.
First pitch from Dickinson, North Dakota tonight is at 7:20.
