The Oahe Zap have dropped its third straight game as the Badlands Big Sticks would beat the Zap 11-3 Tuesday night in Dickinson to open the series.
The Zap fall to 1-6 on the season as Badlands improves to 6-1 extending the margin between the two teams in the standings early in the season. The Big Sticks would score first and score often taking a 6-0 lead at the end of two innings. Oahe would get on the board thinks to a Jacob Mix RBI base hit in the top of the fourth and then make it 6-2 with a wild pitch in the top of the fifth. However, five late runs scoring between the seventh and eighth innings extended the lead again for the Big Sticks to control the game and win for the third time in four tries over the Zap.
Abel Anzaldua would be tagged with the loss giving up five earned runs on six hits, four walks and four strikeouts in just two innings of work. Oahe would use four pitchers in the first game of the series coming off the day off on Monday.
Game two of the series is scheduled for a 7:20 first pitch back in Dickinson, North Dakota tonight.
