Zap Drop Inaugural Game to Nebraska Prospects

The Oahe Zap opened up its first ever season on Tuesday as they would play the Nebraska Prospects at Hyde Stadium. Oahe would fall 3-0 in its opening contest.

The game would remain scoreless until the top of the sixth when a two out error would bring in the games first run and give the Prospects a 1-0 lead. It would remain at 1-0 until the top of the ninth where Nathan Cunningham would double home two runs giving the Prospects the extra insurance runs it needed to cap off the opening day win over the Zap. Oahe had just four hits in the game as Jackson Mix would have two of those four hits including the lone extra base hit for the Zap. Gavin Starcher would be tagged with the loss giving up the unearned run over over six innings of work on just five hits, four walks and five strikeouts.

The Zap will look to even the opening series tonight as they play game two of the three game set. First pitch is at 6:35 from Hyde Stadium in Pierre.
