Softball Closes Season with Final Home Games

The Pierre Governor Softball team will be at home for the final two games of the season as they host the Roosevelt Roughriders and Washington Warriors on Friday and Saturday.

The Governors are 5-11 on the season and in 11th place in the AA standings into the final weekend of the season. The SoDak 16 matchup will be on Tuesday and the Govs will most likely be on the road. Pierre faces Roosevelt on Friday. The Roughriders are 1-15 on the season with its lone win against Aberdeen Central in a 21-17 football like score. Roosevelt has lost by the 10-run rule in 13 of its 15 losses.

On Saturday, the Govs face the Warriors who are 10-5 and in fifth place in the standings. It could be a potential matchup in the SoDak 16 with a small shift in the standings. The Warriors have lost two of its last three games including dropping four of seven after starting the year at 7-1.

First pitch today is at 4:00 against Roosevelt and then at 1:00 on Saturday against Washington all at the Riggs Softball Field.
