Region 6B Battles Air Quality for Track and Field Meet

The regular season ended on Thursday for track and field for the Sully Buttes Chargers, Lyman Raiders, Potter County Battlers and Highmore-Harrold Pirates as the Battlers hosted the Region 6B meet. The teams battled the low air quality to finish the season.

Sully Buttes

The Sully Buttes Chargers would pick up three wins at the region meet as Stevie Wittler would win the 100 meter hurdles while Lydia Hill would win both the shot put and discus throws. Wittler would also place second in the 300 meter hurdles and third in the 200 meter dash. Wittler, along with Jaycee Jaeger, Hope Weinheimer and Courtnie Weinheimer would place third in the 4×100 relay while Jaege and the Weinheimers would be joined by Jane Yackley to be fifth in the 4×200 relay race. On the boys side, Kayden Westergren would be second in the shot put and fourth in the discus throws while Gavin Barber would be third in the 400 meters and fifth in the 200 meters. Barber would also place fifth in the 4×100 with Westergren, Isaac Ramirez and Teghan Westphal.

Potter County

The Potter County Battlers would pick up eight wins in total as Megan Seurer would win the 200 meters, Emma Schalchter the 800 meters and Dannika Kaup the 300 meter hurdles. Kaup would also team up with Schlachter, Rayel Person and Jadyn Ahlemeier to win the 4×400 and 4×800 relay races. On the boys side, Nicholas Schlachter would win both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs while Carter Luikens would win in the 400 meter dash.

Lyman

Rory McManus would have the lone win for the Lyman Raiders on Thursday as he would win the 110 meter hurdles. McManus would also be second in the 300 meter hurdles setting a new personal record and also finishing second in the 100 meter dash. Mason Ryan would be fourth in the 1600 meter run and also fifth in the 800 meter run while Carter Eriksen was fourth in the long jump, Braydon Oldenkamp fourth in the triple jump and Aksel Ehlers fifth in the pole vault. On the girls side, Makaylee Scott was second in the high jump while Jordan Scott was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles and the team of Makaylee Scott, Mesa Garnos, Maggie Lingemann and Kelsyn Wells was fifth in the 4×100 relay.

Highmore-Harrold

Autumn Fallis would win both events for the Highmore-Harrold Pirates on Thursday as she placed first in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. She also placed third in the 800 meter run. For the Pirates boys, they had a total of four second place finishes as Trey Knox would place second in the high jump, Dawson Hale the 3200 meter run, Carson Stephenson in the 800 meter and the team of Isaiah Felicia, Tate Hoffman, Cody Aasby and Dawson Hale in the sprint medley relay race. Hoffman was also third in the discus, Hale in the 1600 meter run and Knox third in the triple jump.
