Two Sentenced In Federal Court For Crimes In Mellette County

PIERRE — A Mellette County woman and Mission man have been sentenced for their involvement in federal crimes committed in Mellette County. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 20 year-old Sativa Looking Cloud was sentenced to 20 years in federal custody on charges of Second Degree Murder and First Degree Burglary. Ramsdell says 30 year-old Stephen Fallis was sentenced to eight years in federal prison on charges of Possession of a Stolen Firearm and being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm. Looking Cloud and Fallis were both involved in two separate instances to bring the charges. The pair went to a home in Mellette County on February 16th of 2023 with guns. Looking Cloud entered a home and started an argument then fired the handgun in the residence. The next day, Looking Cloud and Fallis entered a second home where Looking Cloud again got into an argument. Looking Cloud shot a woman in the chest at point blank range.
