The Pierre Governor baseball team will have seven seniors on this year’s Academic All-State Team. To be an Academic All-Stater, seniors must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
The seven seniors are Brecken Kruger, Deegan Houska, Jack Merkwan, Jackson Edman, Jayden Wiebe, Jonathan Lyons and Lincoln Kienholz. So for Pierre, every senior made the Academic All-State team for 2023 which is also tied for the second most on a team.
The Govs will be wrapping up the regular season this weekend and the playoffs will be on Saturday, May 20 with the state semifinals and state championship on Saturday, May 27.
