Avera St. Mary’s To Renovate Main Entrance To Remove Revolving Door

PIERRE — A remodeling project at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital will impact access to the facility for patients. The main entrance of Avera St. Mary’s will be remodeled starting Monday May 8th at 7:30 am. The project is expected to last all of next week, ending on Friday May 12th. The work will impact the main and emergency entrances to the hospital. All patients and visitors to the St. Mary’s campus including for emergency room visits will need to use Entrance B or the Helmsley Center until the project is completed. A banner will be in place showing visitors and patients where Entrance B is located. Staff will be available in the Helmsley Center to guide those looking to access St. Mary’s. As for the remodel, the revolving door will be removed and replaced with two walk-in doors, separated by a glass wall. New tile will also be installed in the atrium. Anyone dealing with an emergency medical situation should call 911 or go to the emergency room. Those suffering from an illness or injury are encouraged to use the urgent care clinic at the Avera Medical Group clinic.
