Pierre, SD – The Oahe Zap of Independence League Baseball announced changes to their front office for the 2023 season, announcing the promotion of Assistant General Manager Lizzy Swenson to General Manager and the addition of Operations Manager Jordan Lutmer. Ownership announced the moves effective immediately.
Swenson, who has acted as the Zap Assistant General Manager since January, moves into a new role that will oversee all aspects of the organization including sponsorship sales, ticket sales, gameday operations, maintaining partnerships with Post 8 American Legion Baseball and the City of Pierre, and community relations.
Swenson is originally from the Minneapolis area, but moved to Pierre with her fiancé, Derek, who is a recruiter for the Army National Guard. She studied Sport Management at Concordia University-St. Paul and has extensive softball experience which includes playing for the Golden Bears softball team and coaching at the youth level. She also has sport business experience from her time with the Minnesota Vikings.
Lutmer is a Pierre native with experience dating back to 2018. From 2018 to 2022, Lutmer worked in various roles with the Pierre Trappers of the Expedition League in various roles from intern to Assistant General Manager. Along with his Pierre baseball experience, he interned at South Dakota State University with Jackrabbits athletics while he pursued his degree in Graphic Design. He graduated from South Dakota State University in 2021.
Lutmer will be overseeing all ballpark operations including tickets, staffing, apparel, and concessions efficiency, along with working on community ventures with the organization. If any fan has a question at the ballpark, Jordan is sure to have an answer for you.
Opening Day for the Zap is Tuesday, May 23rd when they play the Nebraska Prospects at Hyde Stadium. Tickets are on sale now at www.oahezap.com or at the office located at 207 E. Capitol Ave. Suite 208 in Pierre.
