The Pierre Governor softball team is back at home as they play both Thursday and Friday, hosting the Mitchell Kernels today in an ESD contest.
Pierre is still searching for its first win as the Govs have stumbled in its first five games and lost by the 10-run rule in both games on Monday. Pierre has yet to play a team under .500 so far on the season with Rapid City Central at 2-2, the worst team they’ve played record wise. However, today the Govs will get the opportunity to play the Kernels who are 1-4 to begin the season with its only win coming against Aberdeen Central. Pierre will quickly turnaround and host Brookings on Friday, who beat the Kernels in its last game on Tuesday.
First pitch from the Riggs Softball field is scheduled for 4:00 this afternoon.
