Seven of the Eight area teams were scheduled to be in Onida on Thursday for the Charger Invite, but the event has been canceled due to weather.
The Chargers were going to host 20 total teams which included Highmore-Harrold, Lyman, Jones County, Miller, Potter County and Pierre. However, because of the winds and cold temperatures the event has been canceled with no make up date scheduled at this time. This comes on the heals of the Pierre American Legion Relays being postponed from Friday to next week Monday also due to the cold temperatures and high winds. Highmore-Harrold, Miller, Sully Buttes and Pierre will all be scheduled to be in Pierre on Monday for the event with Stanley County joining them from the area. It comes at an unfortunate time because teams were just starting to get into the flow of competing regularly after having the first three to four weeks be slim for activity.
The American Legion Relays are scheduled to begin at 11:00 at Hollister Field on Monday.
