The Pierre Governor tennis team was scheduled to face Milbank and Mitchell two weeks ago, but as much of the spring has seen, winter weather had other plans. However, the three teams will still meet in Pierre today for a triangular.
The Governors are set for a busy couple of days as they face both Mitchell and Milbank today at home before traveling to Sioux Falls for the weekend as last weekend’s triangular was postponed to this coming weekend. But with how the weather has fared over the spring and the lack of matches played, it will be good for the tennis team to string plenty of matches in a row in short period of time. Pierre is at 1-4 on the season after dropping an 8-1 dual to Aberdeen Central in its home opener last week.
Mitchell is still at 2-2 on the season and Milbank has already had a busy week. The Bulldogs faced Madison on Monday before facing Huron and Aberdeen Roncalli on Tuesday. Milbank had just one win coming into the week at 1-3.
The first matchup will be Pierre vs. Milbank at 11:00 with the Governors facing Mitchell around 4:00 all at Griffin Park in Pierre.
