Pierre City Commission Approves Purchase Of Two Police Patrol Vehicles

PIERRE — The Pierre Police Department will be adding two 2023 Chevy Tahoes to it’s fleet of patrol vehicles. Police Chief Jason Jones told the Pierre City Commission patrol cars, like other equipment, are hard to find right now…

The request comes as the City of Pierre included no new vehicle purchases in the new city budget…

Finance Officer Twila Hoffrogge says a budget supplement is needed to fund the patrol vehicles…

The vehicles are being purchase off the state bid from Beck Motors in Pierre. Jones says he worked with every dealer in Pierre to find the best pricing. The cost per Tahoe to the City of Pierre is just over 42-thousand dollars per unit.
