The Pierre Governor baseball team was scheduled to be in Sioux Falls on Friday and Harrisburg on Saturday, but all four games have been canceled due to the weather.
For the Govs it’s now eight games lost due to the weather, doubling the total with the weekend games being canceled. Both days are canceled with no make up dates announced. The Governors are 0-4 on the season and will still be searching for its first win as their next game is now scheduled for Tuesday traveling to Brookings for a doubleheader. Pierre will be looking for better results in its doubleheader against the Bobcats which is also the last road games of the season for Pierre. The Govs will have its home opener next Friday when they host the Lincoln Patriots.
Also adding to the schedule is another game at home against the Stevens Raiders. Pierre was scheduled for a JV/Varsity doubleheader on Sunday, May 14 to close the season, however, the varsity team will now play a doubleheader to get an extra game in before the end of the year.
Tuesday’s games are scheduled to begin with first pitch at 5:00 and coverage starting at 4:45 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
