Madelyn Brakke would shoot the lowest score of day two and finish second overall in the Rapid City Invite with a 22 over par, eight shots off the lead as the Pierre Governors would finish second as a team.
Brakke’s second day was filled with three birdies and eight pars to shoot a 78 and two shots better than Tanna Phares for the second day win. Phares of Stevens would win the overall two day even after finishing 10 shots ahead of Brakke on day one. Andrea Mosteller would finish in eighth place with a total 179, 13 shots behind her teammate and only six shots out of the top five. Hadley Hart would place 14 at 47 over combined for the two days while Morgan Lisburg was two shots back in 15th and Hattie Baldwin would finish 19th only six shots behind Lisburg. As a team, the Govs would shoot a plus 148, 724 while Stevens would win the event at plus 111, 687. A difference of 37 shots over two full rounds. O’Gorman placed third at plus 182, 758.
The Governors are off until next Tuesday when they host their first home meet of the season as 18 schools will gather at Hillsview Golf Course.
