South Dakota State Softball Completes Sweep of St. Thomas

South Dakota State would sweep St. Thomas on Monday with its third win over two days defeating the Tommies 8-0 in St. Paul.

The first three innings featured just one hit between the two sides as starting pitching was dominant. SDSU would take the lead in the fourth with two errors to begin the inning putting two runners on for the Jackrabbits. Allison Yoder drew a walk to load the bases before Jocelyn Carrillo had a two RBI double. The Jacks would hold a 2-0 lead through five before busting it open in the sixth.

The Jackrabbits improved to 20-14 overall and 3-0 in Summit League play with the series sweep over St. Thomas. The Tommies dropped to 8-24 and 0-5 in their conference slate. Tori Kniesche picked up her second Summit League victory of the season and is 12-4 overall in 2023. Seven Jacks combined for nine hits on the day. Carrillo registered two doubles and two RBIs while Lindsey Culver had two hits.

South Dakota State will return home to host Omaha for a three-game series which begins Friday, April 7.
